Railways Simon Njogu ended the reign of Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC), Matchplay champion Paul Muchangi at the ongoing encounter on par 72 Vetlab Sports club.
In the second day of the championships and opening day of Matchplay, Njogu toppled Limuru Muchangi 1-up.
Following the win Njogu will take on Nakuru J. Sandhu on Saturday ahead of Sunday final. Sandhu had edged out John Mburu 2-1.
In another battle of titans Junior players, the gross winner on Thursday Mutahi Kibugu will be taking on Railways John Lejirma.
Mutahi had beaten M. Kimemia 4-3 while Lejirma defeated Paul Kiragu.
The only deaf golfer Isaac Makokha will be squaring out with Kevin Juma. Makokha from Vetlab edged out Simon Mulama 3-2 while Juma prevailed against K. Mediratta.
Another junior player Tuimur Malik will take on N. Kibugu after edging out Shivam Shah and Adel Abdallah 3-2 and 2-1 respectively.
