Eldoret Falcons defeated Nyuki Starlets in the opening leg of Kenya Women Division two football league played on Sunday at the Moi Marula Primary school grounds.
Vio Odera and Mildred Simiyu scored a goal apiece in the 2-0 victory after taking home advantage for the former Kenya Women Premier League side.
Coach Joshua Ariko said that they could have scored more goals if they were lethal in front of the goal since they lost more goals than the ones they scored.
“It was good motivation to the team at the start of the league though we lost so many chances. It was a game of many goals,” said Ariko.
Elsewhere, Gusii Starlets were 2-1 winners over Solasa Stima Queens with Vihiga Leeds losing 2-0 to Kolwa Falcons.
