Kenya Lionesses, the Kenya women rugby registered their first win at the ongoing Madrid Invitational sevens tournament in Madrid, Spain.
After failing to win any match in the opening leg, it was the similar fate as the Felix Oloo coached side lost their opening match 5-22 against Russia but they set up a good fight against hosts beating them 22-0.
Janet Okello converted Stella Wafula’s try for a 7-0 lead before captain Philadelphia Olando extended the lead making the second try for a 12-0 as Christabel Olindo came off the scrum for the third try that was never converted for 17-0 lead.
On resumption, Okello scored her second try for a 22-0 win, the first for Kenya Lionesses who have four points from two matches played.
