Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has fined Zoo following crowd trouble during the National Super League (NSL) promotional match against Nairobi United.
The federation has fined the former KPL side Sh300,000 fine which is a blow to National Super League (NSL).
The National Super League match against Nairobi United was abandoned in the 85th minute due to crowd trouble.
Zoo had lost to Luanda Villa FC 1-0 at Mumboha Stadium before being subjected to play off against Nairobi United.
“Zoo FC will be docked three points from the already accumulated points during their 2022/23 league season,” FKF further stated on their Facebook page. Consequently, Zoo will begin the upcoming season with negative three (-3) points.
This means Zoo will remain in the Division One league and will play their first five (5) matches of the 2023/24 Division One League fixtures behind closed doors.
