Competing in her second marathon, former track mistress Vivian Cheruiyot won her maiden marathon title in today’s (Sunday 29th) Frankfurt Marathon.
The reigning Olympics 5,000m champion won The title in The Germany City to add her dominance in athletics after finishing fourth in April’s London marathon.
The multiple IAAF world champion is set to fit in The feet of Olympics marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge who dominated track events and went ahead to do the same in marathon.
The 34 year old world cross country runner cut the tape on the red carpet in 2:23.35 ahead of Ethiopian Melese Arage Yebrgual in 2:24.30.
Cheruiyot improved on her time on the course.
