Kenya’s sporting family is mourning the death of AFC Leopards Secretary General Gilbert Andungu who passed on tonight in a Kitengela Hospital.
The family and the Leopards have also confirmed the sad development on social media, terming his loss as a huge blow to the club he served wholeheartedly
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of our Secretary General, Mr. Gilbert Andugu
“Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to Andugu’s family, friends, and relatives.” Read a statement on the club’s official Facebook handle.
Andungu took over from Oliver Sikuku, who had served the maximum two terms allowed by the club’s constitution.
Before assuming the secretary general role, Andugu served as chairman of the branch heads and had built a reputation for his organizational skills and commitment to the club.
