Double World Cross country champion Beatrice Chebet edged out Faith Kipyegon to won gold for Kenya at the Ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France.
The 10,000m world record holder won the 5,000m title in 14:28.56 ahead of Faith Kipyegon who settled for silver after timing 14:29.60 with two time world 5,000m silver medalist Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi settling in the 5th position when she clocked 14:32.23 with the defending champion Sifan hassan winning bronze at 14:30.61.
