World under 20 800m bronze medalist Noah Kibet and world indoor 1,500m bronze medalist Abel Kipsang registered victories in today’s Doha Dianond League, the opening leg of Diamond League in Doha, Qatar.
A week after winning the Kip Keino Classic, the World Athletics Continental gold Tour Kipsang won the 1,500m title in 3: 35.70 ahead of Olympic Games 1,500m silver medalist Timothy Cheruiyot to second place in 3:37.06 followed by Kamar Etiang and Charles Simotwo finished fifth and seventh in 3:38.74 and 3:39.18 respectively.
Kibet won the 800m while Olympic Games 800m silver medalist Ferguson Rotich was 5th in 1:50.48.
Double Olympic Games 1,500m champaion Faith Chepnhetic Kipyegon was second in the 3,000m finishing behind Burundian Francine Niyonsaba in 8:38.05 and 8:37.70 respectively.
Commonwealth Games 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist Abraham Kibiwot was the best Kenyan, finhsing third in men’s 3,000m steeplechase finishing behind Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali from Morocco.
The Moroccan won in 8:09.66 with Ethiopian Lemecha Girma coming second after timing 8:09.67 and Kibiwot third after clocking 8:16.40 with Olympic 3,000m steeplechase bronze medallist Benjamin Kigen settling 6th in 8:23.65.
