Good start for KDF and KPC at Heroes tournament in Mosoriot

Champions Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) started on a positive note at the second edition of National Heroes Community Volleyball tournament that served off today at the Koitaleel University College in Mosoriot, Nandi County.

KDF who won the title last year started their title defence on high when they beat Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league champions General Service Unit (GSU) 3-2 in pool C encounter in court A in 25-27, 25-17, 25-20, 25-25 and 15-07 to qualify into the quarterfinals set for tomorrow at the same venue.

kDF coach Elisha Aliwa said they are on their way to defend the title.

“we played well and as champions we managed to get a win on the first day. We are using this to gauge performance ahead of the new season where we want to finish at the top,” said Aliwa.

In other men matches, Administration Police of Kenya (AP-K) were 3-2 (25-22, 33-31, 25-21, 18-25 and 13-15) over Kenya Forest Service (KFS) as Kenya Army beat Trail Blazers 3-1 in 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, and 27-25, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) won 3-0 (21-25, 27-29 and 16-25) against Rift Valley Prison.

In women, it was an all win for KPC who beat both KDF in straight sets of 28-26, 25-19 and 25-18 and 3-1 over Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in 25-20, 24-26, 25-19 and 26-24 as KDF beat DCI 3-1 in 23-25, 25-21, 25-17 and 25-21 as KCB were victorious against Kenya Army 3-0 (25-13, 25-10 and 25-19).
