Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia lost the first leg against USM Alger in the CAF Champions League match played tonight at Stade Mustapha Tchaker.
The multiple Kenyan champions lost 4-1 to their hosts, hoping to turn the tables in the return leg set for two weeks in Nairobi at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Zakaria Benchaa broke the deadlock in the 5th minute before Mohammed Mefta added the second in the 16th minute and a brace minutes later as the hosts went into break with 3-0 lead.
On resumption, captain Kenneth Muguna converted a penalty for a 3-1 lead as Benchaa sealed the victory in the 76th minute.
