FORMER Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) champions General Service Unit (GSU) and KCB Women Volleyball team were the winners of the second edition of Eldoret City Volleyball tournament held at the Eldoret National Polytechnic grounds.
In men, the multiple champions edged out the reigning KVF champions Kenya Prisons in straight sets of 25-20, 25-21 and 25-20 for the title and beating the then defending champions Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) at the quarterfinals.
The champions edged out Equity Bank in straight sets of 25-22, 25-19 and 25-20 while the silver medalists Kenya Prison defeated Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) 3-1 in 26-24, 25-22, 15-25 and 25-21.
It was back to back victory for KCB who defeated Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) in a four-setter final to record victory.
The immediate KVF champions failed to set revenge against the bankers after the later beating the former 3-2 in pool match on Sunday morning at 25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 25-19 and 7-15.
KCB managed to win the final 3-1 in 25-17, 22-25, 25:23 and 26-24 for the title
In women semifinals, KPC defeated Kenya Prisons in straight sets of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-22 while KCB beat Postbank 3-1 in 25-18, 23-25, 25-17 and 25-21.
