GSU and KPC one step away from Volleyball glory after KPA and DCI wins

General Service Unit (GUS) and Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) are one step away from winning the Kenya Volleyball Federation men and women titles following their round one win today at the final play-offs at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

In the three leg play-offs, the two teams at the finals will be facing off again tomorrow, with the winner of the second leg taking the title but if the losers win in the second round, the matches will be spread to Sunday to determine the winner in the three legs.

In women, it was an easy ride for KPC who triumphed against Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in straight set to take round one win.

The multi champions KPC won in 25-19, 25-20 and 25-14 against new comes, DCI who are playing in their maiden finals.

The African bronze medalist KPC under Coach Geoffrey Omondi, will be seeking to reclaim the national title since 2022 after KCB and Kenya Prisons won in the two seasons.

In men, GSU humbled Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in straight sets of 25-15, 25-22 and 30-28 to have one step for the title.

The paramilitary side shone against the dockers but the hard fighting side did not relent.
