GSU, KPA romp into quarterfinals of African Clubs in Tunisia

Kenya representatives at the Africa Men Volleyball club championships led by Kenya Volleyball Federation champions General Service Unit (GSU) and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) have stormed into the quarterfinals of the championships in Tunis, Tunisia.

Champions GSU and debutants KPA won their second and last pool matches to match into the quarters.

GSU defeated Congo’s Espoire in straight wins of 25-11, 25-14,25-12 today to qualify for the African Clubs championship quarterfinals set for Friday.

GSU lost their opening fixture to Zamalek 3-0(25-17,25-15, 25-23) before winning the second against Nigeria Customs 3-1(23-25,25-16,25-22,25-18) and today’s win was good enough for champions who will face  Esperance of Tunisia in one of the quarterfinal who topped pool A.

The win saw GSU finish second in pool D behind five-time champions Zamalek, who remain unbeaten.

It was another celebration for newcomers KPA defeated Rukinzo from Burundi in straight sets of 25-23, 25-10, 25-19 to finish second in pool A.
