Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay Desta has expressed willingness to compete on Kenyan soil in future.
The 2020 Olympic Games 5,000m bronze medalist wants to compete in the country to renew her rivalry with both Faith Kipyegon and Beatrice Chebet just as the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
On December 21st, Tsegay took to her facebook page expressing her intentions to compete in Kenya saying “I have the honor of the kenya people, I want compete in kenya 1500m or 5000m 2025 or 2026.”
Tsegay had involved in altercation with Kipyegon in the women’s 5000m that was won by Chebet with Kipyegon disqualified for winning silver in the race that was later reinstated.
The incident caused a lot of uproar from Kenyan fans who most likely are yet to forgive Tsegay.
Kenya hosts Kip keino Classic as the biggest track and field event that Tsegay can compete in.
