Harambee Starlets scalp South Sudan at CECAFA Senior Women Challenge

Kenya’s Harambee Starlets maintained their unbeaten run for the third match following their victory against South Sudan at the ongoing CECAFA Senioe Women Challenge played this evening at the Azam stadium in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

After beating Burundi 3-0 in the opening fixture, followed by 4-0 thrashing defending champions Uganda, the day belong to Kenya with a 4-0 thumping of South Sudan.

With victory, the Beldine Odemba-coached side remains as the only team that has not conceded a goal in their run to reclaim the title they last won in 2019.

Kenya have taken to the summit of the table with three above hosts Tanzania.

Kenya asserted dominance when Faith Mboya scored first for Kenya in the 3rd minute followed by Violet Nanjala’s second goal in the 48th minute, then Martha Amunyolet made it three in the 65th minute as Elizabeth Ochaka sealed the victory in the dying minutes.

With one title, Kenya will be facing off with hosts and two times Tanzania on Saturday to determine the winner.
