Harambee Stars, the national men’s football team captain Michael Olunga is optimistic that they will well at FIFA World Cup qualifiers away to The Gambia that will be played in Ivory Coast on Thursday.
Olunga, who plays for Al Duhail in Qatar said that the team has had good training ahead of the qualifiers when the teal departed today morning to the West African.
“Since we have been good in training, team work will be good for us. We have been having a good training in camp for such event,” said Olunga.
Stars will face The Gambia, having previously encountered them in past AFCON qualifiers.
After Thursday’, the Benni McCarthy said will return in the country to face Gabon on Sunday.
Kenya currently sits fourth in Group F 5 points after playing 4 matches, winning one, drawing two and losing one.
Ivory Coast leads the standing on ten points from similar matches, winning all and drawing one as Gabon are on 9 points, one behind the leaders and Burundi 4th on 7 points. Gambia and Seychelles are 5th and 6th on 3 and 0 points heading into the 5th round of matches.
