Harambee Stars land ahead of Mapinduzi Cup

Harambee Stars, the national men’s soccer team will start off the Mapinduzi Cup title chase against Burkina Faso on Saturday in the five nations tournament.

The tournament will be key for interim coach Francis Kimanzi as he will be preparing the team at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) that will be staged in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

At the Gombani stadium, Kenya will take on Burkina at 8:15 PM followed by Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro Stars on Tuesday and complete the group stages against hosts Zanzibar on Friday.

All top two teams from the group will proceed to the final, scheduled to take place on Monday for the 24-man squad for the tournament.

With the Mapinduzi Cup providing a competitive environment, Harambee Stars aim to build momentum and cohesion ahead of CHAN. Fans will be keen to see how the team performs against regional rivals in what promises to be a pivotal tournament for Kenya’s football ambitions.
