Double Boston marathon champion Hellen Onsando Obiri was crowned the champion of prestigious New York Mini 10-K today on American soil.
Obiri, the former world 5,000m champion clocked 30:44 for the title after edging out American Weini Kelati in 30:49 then Ethiopia’s Gotytom Gebreslase finished third in 30:54.
The former New York City marathon champion faced off with Amanda Vestri, Sharon Lokedi, Grace Loibach, Gotytom Gebreslase, Taylor Roe, and Emma Grace Hurley for the title chase.
