Henok Mulueberhan bags a hattrick at CAC Road Cycling Africa Championships

Double time Africa Road race championships Cyclist champion Eritrean Henok Mulueberhan successfully retained a htarick at the concluded CAC Road Cycling Africa Championships that concluded in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

The Eritrean, who won both the 2022 and 2023 titles succcsfully bagged a hattrick at the championships after clearing 158km with an impressive time of 3:46:21 ahead of South African Emile Van Niekerk for silver and Ugandan Charles Kagimu settling for bronze. Kagimu, the winner of elite individual race in the opening day of the championships.

Niekerk, after winning silver, also managed to win the under 23 title at 3:46:23 ahead of Eritrean Milkiyas Maekele and Rwandese Erick Muhoza completing the podium.

With the conclusion of the championships, Eritrea won the overall title after collecting 16 medals in total with 7 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze. Uganda was second with eight medals 3 gold, 4silver and a bronze as Rwanda completed the podium gold, a silver and two bronze.

Egypt won a silver with morocco and Ethiopia winning a bronze
