Fresh from winning her double World Athletics championships in Oregon, double Olympic 1,500m champion Faith Chepng’etich Kipyegon returned to the country with a heroic welcome.
Kipyegon, who reclaimed the title she won way back in 2017 after losing 2019 on Doha remains the only Kenyan gold medalist in Oregon after stunning time of 3:52.96 and the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport was full of song and dance were Athletics Kenya chief administrative officer Susan Kamau, deputy director of sports Jackson Indakwa, friends and family members gathered to welcome the champion.
Chepng’etich rallied Kenyans to support her colleagues who are yet to compete in Oregon.
