A new rugby 15s champion will be named tomorrow during the finals of the Western Region Secondary Schools Sports Association (WRSSSA) at the Chavakali school in Vihiga County.
This comes after national champions Vihiga school was knocked out of the championships in the hands of former champions Kakamega School.
At the finals in the 15s, Kakamega school from kakamega County will be taking on Bungoma High school from Bungoma County at the final with the winner earning a slot to the national championships that will be staged in Kisumu next month.
Kakamega edged out Vihiga 7-0 in the semifinals to earn the final slot against Bungoma which beat Senende 21-0.
Both teams topped in their pools A and B respectively
Bungoma drew with Vihiga in the opening fixtures at 14-14 followed by by a 12-0 thrashing of regional champions St peter’s Mumias 12-0 then beat Amukura 44-0 to top pool A.
Kakamega recorded 100% victories starting with former East Africa champions Butula 12-0, Kakamega beat Bungoma’s Bokoli 13-03 then beat Senende 6-11.
