Luis Ingavi grabbed a brace when Rising Stars, the national under 18 side defeated Sudan in the opening pool A match at the Mamboleo stadium on Kisumu.
Coached by Salim Babu, the young stars won 5-0 after enjoying home fans noise.
The Montverde Academy player started the goal scoring journey in the in the 7th minute before Rainbow FC’s Tyron Kariuki double the score in the 29th minute for a 2-0.
Captain Aldrine Kibet made it 3-0 fou minutes later before Ingavi grabbing a brace for a 4-0 into break.
After break, Migori Youth player Elly Owande scored late for a 5-0 victory.
In the next pool A match, Kenya will face off with Rwanda on Tuesday, then Somalia on Saturday to complete the pool A matches.
In another Group A match, Rwanda beat Somalia 1-0.
Tomorrow, pool B matches will kick off at the Bukhung stadium in Kakamega County.
The matches will see Zanzibar play South Sudan as Tanzania take on Uganda.
