Christened as Home of Champions due to the prowess of many world beating athletes, Elgeyo Marakwet will host its inaugural road race, The Great Rift Marathon 10km run in Iten.
Well known by its good training ground, better than st Moritz in Switzerland, Iten will hosting the 10km race on 5th May 2018 with the race set to support people living with autism.
The race dubbed Step Up For Autism, winners in each category will pocket kshs 50,000 in both gender, 40,000 for second finisher and 30,000 for third finisher.
The prizes will trickle down to tenth finisher with number ten carrying home kshs 5,000. But those athletes who will finish in position 11-20 will each take home a thousand Kenya shillings.
