Jacob Krop dominate Kapsokwony AK Cross country meeting

Africa under 20 5,000m silver medalist Jacob Krop and Edna Cheptok were the champions of the 4th leg of Athletics Kenya Cross Country championships held today at Kapsokwony High school grounds in Mount Elgon, Bungoma County.

Krop won the senior men’s 10km title in 30:26.18 beating Samuel Kibet to second in 31:03.35 with Reuben Longosiwa third in 31:19.70.

In senior women’s 10km Cheptok won in 34:01.91 ahead of Nelly Jeptoo (34:16.51) and Alice Aprot (34:41.10).

In women’s under 18 5km, Sharon Chepng’etich was the victor in 18:02.77 ahead of Faith Simotwo (18:20.22) and Lina Bungei third by clocking 18:31.22 while Ednah Chepkemoi was the champion in 6km junior women by stopping the time in 21:05.85 beating Deborah Chemtai and Grace Loibach to second and third by clocking 21:13.26 and 21:32.96.

Brian Kiptoo (24:56.40) won the 8km junior men ahead of Dismas yego (25:09.74) and Timothy Kibet (25:18.45) while Charles Rotich was victorious in under 18 6km men after timing 18:35.27 followed by Simon Maywo (18:57.53) and Dominic Kiptoo in 19:09.56.
