Double East Africa Under 18 champion Agnes Jebet and reigning Kabarak University 10km champion Vincent Kiprotich were the winners of Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) titles held today at the University of Eldoret ground.

Sharing the name with former world cross country champion Agnes Jebet Tirop, Jebet has been competing in many local races and won Maria Soti and Mosoriot cross country meetings.
Jebet, who won 1,500m and 3,000m before anchoring the national to to win silver in medley relay relegated another local cross-country runner Catherine Reline from Kapsait girls to second in 21:00.41 before Grace Loibach from Kapseret completed the podium in 21:06.60.
“The course was difficult but I managed to win due to my training,” said Jebet.
After registering Kabarak University 10km title, Kiprotich was at it again, winning men’s 8km.
The Ndalat cross country junior champion timed 23:08.7 finishing ahead of Gideon Rono (23:24.8) and Kelvin Chelang’a (23:27.6) who finished second and third respectively.
The form four student at Kimwogo secondary said his ambitions were to win the race as he leaves school, by next year, he will be joining top league.
“I won this race because of my serious btraining knowing I was going to compete at the national level, which was not easy at all. Running with athletes from across the country was not a walk in the park,” said Kiprotch.
The same script was repeated as he led top six positions ball going to Rift valley, just like what Jebet did in girls category.
