Jebitok meets Olympic qualifying standards at True Athletes Classics

Reigning world under 18 1,500m silver medalist Edinah Jebitok has qualified for the Olympic Games that will be held next month in Tokyo, Japan.

After missing to qualify during the national trials when she finished third behind winner Faith Chepnhetich and Emily Tuwei, won the 4:03.46 during the True Athletes Classics Leverkusen, Germany.

At the trials, she finished third in 4:05.54 but had not attained the qualifying standards of 4:04.20.

Korir said Jebitok becomes the 42nd athlete in athletics team and will be joining Chepng’etich and Chebet in what is going to be a very formidable team.
