Kenya women’s beach volleyball has qualified for the Olympic Games that will be staged in Tokyo, Japan next month.
Kenya defeated Nigeria during the African qualifiers in Morocco today as the championships came to an end.
Gaudencia Nakhumicha and Brackcides Agala edged out Nigeria Two team 2-1 (17-21, 21-18 and 15-10) while Phosca Kaisi and Yvonne Wavinya silenced their opponents 2-0 (21-17 and 21-10) to gain the single slot.
Kenya knocked out Morocco 2-1 in the semifinal. They also overpowered Mozambique in the quarter final. The men’s team lost in the quarters.
