Senior men and women competed in 8km during the Athletics Kenya Nandi Cross country championships held today at the Kapsabet ASK Showground in Nandi County.
Athletics Kenya Nandi county secretary Kennedy Tanui explained that the senior men and women had to compete in the 8km due to short time for the regional championships set for next Friday.
“As officials, we saw it better to give chance for athletes to run shorter races so that they get good time to recover ahead of regional championships. The time is too short and we could not punish our athletes,” said Tanui.
