Two time world half marathon champion Peres Jepchirchir and Evans Chebet were crowned the champions of today’s 40th edition of Valencia marathon ran in the Spanish city.
The world half marathon record holder Jepchirchir led a 1-2 podium for Kenyan runners winning in 2:17: 16 to smash the Valencia Marathon course record ahead of Joyciline Jepkosgei.
Chebet also led a 1-2 podium finish for Kenyans after beating compatriot Boston and Chicago marathon champion Lawrence Cherono to win the men’s race in a new course record of 2:03:00.
