Jepchirchir, Kandie debuts for for New York City marathon

Olympic marathon champion Peres Jepchirchir and world half marathon silver medalist Kibiwot Kandie will be chasing for New York marathon titles set for November 7th.

The two time world half marathon champion, Jepcirchir will be making her debut in the USA’s race, one of the six world marathon majors race.

Enjoying her personal best marathon time of 2:17:16 from 2020 Valencia is the fastest, Jepchirchir will be up against Namibia’s four-time Olympian and 2019 World Championships bronze medalist Helalia Johannes, Ethiopia’s Ruti Aga, 2019 Chicago Marathon runner-up Ababel Yeshaneh, compatriot Nancy Kiprop, Viola Cheptoo, Olympic marathon bronze medalist Molly Seidel, Aliphine Tuliamuk and Sally Kipyego.

Kandie, the world half marathon record holder makes New York debut and will take on Abdi Nageeye, Ethiopia’s Kenenisa Bekele, Jared Ward,  Callum Hawkins, Albert Korir and Ethiopia’s Girma Bekele Gebre and Ghirmay Ghebreslassie of Eritrea among others.
