Boston half marathon champion Brilliant Jepkorir has shifted her focus for the World half marathon to be held in Gdynia, Poland in March.
Following her dismal performance at the world cross country in the junior category, the reigning First lady Half marathon champion said she will be skipping some Kenyan races to concentrate on her training, which she says is going on well in Iten.
The fast-rising runner as reported by The Star Newspaper, if she will make it to Poland, it will be her second time to wear national colours following a series of road races both nationally and internationally.
“My focus has shifted to the World half marathon and I want to do my best for the country,” said Jepkorir.
Having her personal best 67:12 set during the 2019 Copenhagen half marathon last year where she finished in 5th position, said she has been doing well in training, hoping to replicate the same.
Apart from the Boston and Copenhagen, she also won silver at the Houston half marathon in 2019.
Apart from her, national cross country winner Kibiwott Kandie will be chasing the men’s title.
