John Komen runs away with 5km world record

Kenya’s John Kipkoriri Komen won the 37^th edition of Athens Classic marathon ran on Sunday 10^th November.

The 42 year old won the title in 2:16.34 ahead of Rwanda’s Felicien Muhitira in 2:16.43 with Greece’s Konstantinos Gkelaouzos completing the podium in 2:19.02.

Another Daniel Muindi came 4^th in 2:21.39 and Morocco’s Khamis Bakari fifth in 2:23.36.

Home girl Eleftheria Petroulaki won the women’s title in 2:45.50
