The ‘Road to Gleneagles’ Johnnie Walker Golf Series heads to the Western region this weekend for what will be the sixteenth leg of the series.
The event will be held at the par-72 Kakamega Golf Club on Saturday where over 100 golfers are set to compete for glory.
The golfers are set to tee off starting at 7:00 am competing in the tournament’s four-ball stableford format with the top three finishers booking their slots for the tournament’s semis dubbed the Eagle’s Round where they will aim to make it to the Grand Finale to be held at Karen Country Club in May.
The event follows the fifteenth leg of the series played this past weekend at Kiambu Golf Club. During the event, the quartet of Peter Kaburu, Henry Ruhohi, Peter Njuguna, and Lucy Gichimbiri, jointly scored a remarkable 119 points to clinch the fifteenth leg of the Johnnie Walker Golf Series, played at the Kiambu Golf Club on Saturday.
Claiming the second position was the team of Michael Karuga, George Kuria, Michael Karanja, and Alex Mukui who hit a combined score of 110 points, three more than the team of comprising Michael Karanga, Michael Nyangi, Caesar Mugo, and Ken Mwaura, who managed a total of 07 points to claim the third position.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, EABL Marketing Manager for Spirits, Josephine Katambo said; “We are delighted to be taking this tournament to the Western region. So far, the series has produced 45 winning teams who will compete at the Eagles Round in May and we are very proud of the progress we have made so far. We look forward to yet another amazing tournament as it will also provide us with an opportunity to interact with our consumers in the region.”
