Julius Yego injured, finish 6th at Tokyo World Championships

Julius Yego’s journey to reclaim his world Athletics Championships title went up in smoke after picking an injury at javelin final in the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

The former Olympic Games javelin silver medalist recored two throws from three but walked off the run way before the last throw.

In his first throw, he recorded 76.58m followed by 85.54m in the second throw before limping after qualifying distance of 85.96m.

With the two throws, he managed to finish 6th where Trinidad’s Keshorn Walcott won the title in 88.16m with Anderson Peters of Grenada winning silver at 87.38m and American Curtis Thompson settled for bronze in 86.67m.
