Champions Kabras Sugar and Menengai Oilers will be facing off at the Kenya Cup finals following their victory today.
Oilers were the surprise winners over former champions KCB Rugy played at the RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi to seal the final slot to face Kabras who beat Nondescripts in Kakamega.
In Kakamega, Kabras were on rampage, beating Nondies 45-06 to sail to the finals.
Kabras, who won all their league matches, started well with an early try by Jackson Siketi then Ntabeni Dukisa failing to convert for 5-0 before Nondies slotting in a penalty for 5-3 but Griffin Chao made another try, Dukisa’s penalty.
Oilers touched down first through Nelson Makokha with Samuel Omela shooting beyween the posts for 7-0 before Fortune Arturo made the second try and Omela converting for 14-0 lead.
Austin Sikutwa failed to convert Andy Cole’s try for a 14-05 but Omela extend the Oilers’ lead for his unconverted try for 17-5 then Omela converted a penalty for 20-5 lead into break.
On resumption, Sikutwa converted from the spot for KCB for a 20-08, then Omela disciplined the bankers with double penalities for 26-08 lead then Crispin Shitundo made another try for 31-8 final score.
