Michael karanga and Daniel kiragu will fly the kenyan flag at this year’s Egyptian Amateur Open, scheduled to take place from 10th to 12th September 2023 at the El Gouna Golf Club in Egypt.
Today, the kenya Golf Union announced the duo to represent the county at the prestigious golf championships the union described them as Kenya’s finest amateur golfers.
The Egyptian Amateur Open is one of the oldest and most esteemed amateur golf tournaments in Egypt. With a rich history spanning 102 years, this event annually attracts top amateur golfers who compete fiercely for the coveted trophy and valuable World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points.
“It is the mandate of the Kenya Golf Union to develop elite players by providing them with opportunities to participate in high-level international events, thus giving them exposure beyond our borders. Michael Karanga and Daniel Kiragu are currently trainees at the Africa High-Performance Program, which is administered by the Union,” stated Mr. David Ndung’u, Vice Chairman and Tournament Director of the Kenya Golf Union.
