Karanga in double at Nyeri’s Mount Kenya championships

Michael Karanga won back to back victories at the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) during the Mount Kenya Championships in par 71 Nyeri Golf Club

After winning the opener at Sigona, the Sigona Bowl, Karanga won back to back titles with two over par 144  after leading Peter Rimui and John Lejirma who played under cold weather after rains pounded Nyeri town last night.

Karanga now leads the Order of Merit with 150 points followed by Limuru’s Paul Muchangi who had a bad tournament at Nyeri where he finished tenth.  Lejirma’s 33 points haul at Nyeri propelled him to third position a head of Rimui and Adel Balala who gave the Mount Kenya Championship a wide berth.
