Kariobangi Sharks book Bandari at Sportpesa Super Cup Final

Debutants Kariobangi Sharks defeated fellow debutants Mbao FC in post match penalties to book for a final play against compatriots Bandari fc in the Sportpesa Super Cup final.

The final will be the first one in an all Kenyan affair at The National Stadium in Tanzania in a tournament that enters its 3rd edition.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Shield Cup champions Kariobangi Sharks beat Mbao FC 6-5 on post match penalties in the second semi-final after playing out to a barren draw in regulation time forcing the tie into penalties.

Mbao’s Hamimu Abdulkarim and Amos Charles crashed their penalties on the crossbar to hand Sharks the win as Said Khamis, Patrick Athanas, Vincent Phillipo, David Mwaka and Eric Muliro converted their shots.

For Sharks, Patillah Omotto missed to convert the opener but Tom Teka, Sven Yidah, Geoffrey Shiveka, Nixon Omondi, Eric Juma and Michael Bodo converted theirs to seal the victory for William Muluya charges who will now meet debutants Bandari in an all-Kenyan final.
