KCB thrashed Bandari as relegation bound Mathare United pick a point against Nzoia Sugar in the Kenya Premier League matches played today.
The bankers under coach Zedekiah Otieno beat Casa Mbungo’s Bandari 3-0 at the Utalii Grounds in Nairobi to move to second position on 37 points one behind leaders Tusker after all playing 18 matches.
David Simiyu shot the bankers ahead with his 16th minute goal as Harun Thomas doubled KCB’s with the 24th goal and Derrick Otanga sealed the victory.
At Sudi stadium in Bungoma, traveling Mathare United came from 2-0 down to for a 2-all draw against their hosts Nzoia Sugar.
Nzoia’s Hillary Simiyu bagged a brace for the sugar millers before Klinsman Omulanga and substitute John Mwangi scored for 2008 champions.
Mathare scored first through Omulanga in the 18th minute but Nzoia leveled through the spot kick by Simiyu in the 27th when Mathare United defender Lennox Ogutu handled the ball in the box.
Simiyu bagged his brace in the 34th minute to give sugar millers a 2-1 lead into break but the Slum Boys Danson Kago’s goal in the 56th minute earned the visitors a point.
The win took Mathare’s point tally to eight points after 16 games, though they are still rocked at the bottom, while Nzoia Sugar are still 14th on 17 points from 17 matches.
