Kenya’s Lilian Chemweno won silver at the 50km Ultra marathon in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape South Africa today.
Chemweno finished second in women race behind home girl Irvette van Zyl and Polish international Dominika Stelmach completed the podium.
Zyl won the title in 3:04:23 ahead of Chemweno’s 3:05:00 and Stelmach was third timing 3:10:26.
Ethiopian Ketema Negasa won the men’s title in 2:42:07 as South African Jonas Makhele came second timing 2:42:14 beating compatriot Ntsindiso Mphakathi to third after clocking 2:42:56.
