KCB, Mwamba to fight for series title at Driftwood7s

The battle line for rugby sevens titles will be between series leaders Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) and former champions Mwamba, sitting in the second position ahead of this weekend’s final round in Mombasa’s Driftwood Sevens.

The bankers have collected 94 points from the five meetings so far following their three victories in Kakamega, Dala and last weekend’s Christie sevens.

Their main challengers Mwamba won in Kabeberi title, the second meeting and have 84 points, ten less than the bankers while Prinsloo champions, Nakuru RFC completes the podium on 83 points and defending champions Homeboyz completes four best teams.

The leaders are placed in pool A alongside Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) which is in 8th positions with 45 points, the same pool they were in Christie as well as Kenya Harlequins that lies in the drop zone and newly promoted side Administration Police (A.P).

Third placed Nakuru and Christies finalists leads pool B with city rivals Menengai Oilers that has collected 71 points after reaching two finals in Kabeberi and Dala, Kenyatta University side Blak Blad and hosts Mombasa RFC.

Struggling Impala Saracens on 62 points leads pool C with Nondescripts that is in 7th position after accumulating 56 points, Strathmore University side The Leos that has 36 points in 9th place and Northern Suburbs.

Pool D, can be defined as group of death, containing defending champions Homeboyz, second placed Mwamba, Kabras Sugar that has collected 29 points in the 10th position and Nairobi University side Mean Machine.

  3. Impala Saracens, Nondescripts, Strathmore Leos and Northern Suburbs
