Kelvin Chesang ended the Kenya’s long wait of 14-year to claim gold at the African Senior Athletics Championships.
But yesterday, Chesang won the 10,000m title at the ongoing Africa Senior Athletics Championships in Accra, Ghana by winning gold when he produced a powerful finish to clock 28:30.44 for gold ahead of Ethiopia’s Hagos Eyob Gared, who managed silver after clocking 28:30.57 then Kenyan Silas Senchura secured bronze in 28:32.66 for two medals for Kenya.
Chesang won the title that was last won by Kenneth Kipkemoi, taking 14 years since 2012 during the championships held in Porto-Novo, Benin.
