It’s an all Kenyan affair at the Geneva marathon where Collins Kemboi and Patience Jebet Kimutai took top honours Switzerland.
Kemboi successfully defended the men’s title after cutting the tape in 2:08:52 as his personal best, beating all comers course in 2:11:37.
Kemboi led compatriot Silas Kiprono Too who secured second place in 2:09:16, while Simion Tarus Kiplimo completed the all-Kenyan podium with a personal best of 2:09:53
Kenyan athletes continued with the rampage, with Vincent Kiprono (2:11:49), and Mark Kiptoo (2:12:20) in 4th and 5th positions.
In a show of display, another kenyan Edwin Koech managed 7th in 2:17:52.
Patience Jebet Kimutai won the race on her marathon debut in 2:30:45. She beat race favourite Fabienne Schlumpf of Switzerland, who finished second in 2:31:15 followed by Kenyan Jackline Chepkoech in 2:31:18 at third position.
