Kenya Lionesses beat South Sudan, move closer to Fiba AfroBasket qualification round

Kenya lionesses, the Kenyan women basketball team defeated South Sudan in the ongoing Fiba AfroBasket qualifiers in Kampala, Uganda.

Kenya, which is the defending champion will be hoping to retain the title in the Fiba Zone Five after winning 80-51 against South Sudan and moved closer to securing qualifying.

Lionesses now need to beat arch-rivals Egypt on Saturday to secure qualification to the final of the qualifiers where they will face Uganda.

The AfroBasket is set to be held in Rwanda later this year.

The top two teams in the tournament will face-off in the final on Sunday while the third and fourth-placed teams battle in the play-offs.
