They clocked 24:14 to retain the title they last won in 2019 in Aahrus, Denmark beating rivals Ethiopia to second with 23:21 with hosts Australia coming third with bronze in 23:26.
Chebet, the World Under-20 1500m silver medallist, anchored Kenya brilliantly to ensure they reclaim the title.
Chebet handed the baton to former world under 20 800m champion Wanyonyi followed by Cherop and Munguti coming last for the gold medal.
