National women rugby team Kenya Lionesses has moved two steps up in the latest World Rugby Ranking.
In the report released today, Kenya has moved up from 27th to 25th after overtaking continental compatriots Madagascar and Colombia while South Africa remains the highest ranked African team at 13th globally while England lead with New Zealand second World Cup semifinalists Canada and France occupy third and fourth with Italy in fifth place. Australia, the USA, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland complete the top 10 teams in the world.
Lionesses defeated Uganda last week 23-3 in the Africa Cup Pool B tournament in Kampala moved up them.
Kenya will face South Africa and Namibia next year in Pool ‘A matches.
