Kenya men win bronze as women fault at Africa Junior Hockey championships in Egytp

It was a solace when Kenya Under-21 men’s team won bronze at the concluded Africa Junior Hockey Cup in Ismailia, Egypt.

The Michael Malungu coached side defeated Zimbabwe 2-1 in the third-place play-off today to finish third.

Kenya’s Matthew Momanyi scored first for a 1-0 lead after two minutes of the game before Ray-Royce Sibanda leveled in the 21^st minutes for one-all but Mathias Omwaka sealed the victory for Kenya on the 25^th minute.

The women side, finished 4^th after a 2-0 loss to hosts in the third place play-off to end the four-nation tournament without scoring any goal.
