Kenya Open Golf: Government pumps in Kshs 50 million

Organisers of Barclays Kenya Open Golf Championships has received kshs 50 million from the government of Kenya through the National Sports Fund. 

On Tuesday morning, Luke Luseno, the National Sports Fund chairman presented a cheque in line with the directive by president Uhuru Kenyatta, which he promised to raise the standards of the game that tees off on 22nd March at Muthaiga Golf club.

This year’s championship will be the most lucrative tournament on the European Challenge Tour boasting of a total prize kitty of Sh62.5m (500,000 Euros)

The 50th Edition of the Kenya Open Tournament will take place March 22-25 at the Muthaiga Golf Club and has attracted a total of 156 participants; of these 22 will be local professional golfers and 4 amateurs.
