Former Champions Kenya Pipeline (KPC) defeated the reigning champions KCB in today’s Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women’s league played at the Nyayo stadium.
The bankers won the opening set 25-22 but the mails recovered well to win 3-2 in 22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20 and 15-10.
Coached by Japheth Munala, the bankers recorded their first loss in the league while Pipeline under Geoffrey Omondi maintained their good run
At the same time, former champions Prisons Kenya beat PostBank in straight sets of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-19.
In another match, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) were too powerful against Vihiga Volleyball Team with straight set win of 3-0 (25-16, 25-10 and 25-18.
It was a celebration when Maranatha recorded their maiden victory since they were promoted to the top tier league with straight sets of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-19 against Young Spikers.
