Kenya play hosts Burundi in CECAFA U17 opener

National under 17 football team has been pooled together with hosts Burundi in the Council for East and Central Football Association (CECAFA) Under17 championships that kicks off on Saturday.

The team which summed up their preparations with the team departing today for the Bujumbura event.

Kenya, which is in pool A will open the title chase against hosts at Munyima stadium on Saturday 3:30pm EAT before facing Ethiopia on Tuesday at Gitega stadium and end the preliminary matches against Somalia on Friday at Munyima.

The two week event will bring together eight nations where Uganda, Tanzania, Sudan and Zanzibar make pool B.

pool winners and second placed teams in each pool will play in semifinal on April 23rd and 24th. The bronze medal play will be on 27th before the final match on April 28th.

Saturday, April 14 – Kenya vs Burundi (Muyinga Stadium, 3.30 pm)

Tuesday, April 17 – Kenya vs Ethiopia (Gitega Stadium, 3.30 pm)

Friday, April 20 – Kenya vs Somalia (Muyinga Stadium, 3.30 pm)
